About Our Story

(Nigel)

After begining his career at Wyko (now Eriks), where he spent five years progressing to the role of Sales Representative, Nigel then joined Abec Transmission Products Ltd where he worked as a Sales Representative with a small shareholding, marking the start of a 15-year journey with the Abec Group.

During his time with Abec, Nigel held three separate directorships across the group. In 1995, was part of the management team that led a successful buyout of the Abec Group. Following Abec’s acquisition by Brammer PLC in 1997, Nigel transitioned to Abec Distribution Ltd. As a Director and spent two and a half years at Brammer, where he gained hands-on experience in purchasing, logistics, imports, and branch support.

Since founding Global Bearings and Transmission Ltd, Nigel has guided the company through over two decades of growth, success and looks forward to continuing this journey and supporting our customers with dedication and expertise.

My career started as a sales negotiator for an estate agent, dealing with vendors, prospective purchasers and solicitors. I also worked for a very well-known vacuum cleaner manufacturer in their customer service department, there I gained my NVQ level 3 Customer Service qualification.

Following this I decided to set up my own business, in which I sold bespoke sash window components for 10 years. During this period, I was able to develop my management skills across all areas of the business. These are the skills I was able to transfer across to my new career with Global Bearings.

I joined Nigel in 2010, dealing with sales enquiries; account queries, and all areas of admin. At Global Bearings, no two days are the same. We take pride in being sure that you’re guaranteed a warm friendly welcome from the team.

Before starting my career with Nigel and Emma at Global bearings, I spent 2 years working at City electrical Factors (CEF), learning the world of electrical wholesale.

My Job title there was Sales Assistant, but no day ever permitted that you be allocated to just one area of the business. Besides learning the in’s & out’s of sales strategies, I also picked up skills from my co-workers and managers such as; stock control and management and team leadership. Progressively fine tuning my performance to succeed within the company.

In my time outside of work I have engaged in extracurricular learning that relates to the world of business and money, also amongst other areas that are more creative..

Global has given me the opportunity to freely offer my skills, with the hopes of helping devlop the business and leading us a direction that merges with the new approaches of the industry.
